Money doesn't define your value anymore. The product remain the best and exclusive quality even if the company is giving it away for free. Don't believe me? Then I would like to propose the names of Google and Facebook. Heard about them? We are their consumers and we are getting their services for free. Because the unit of value has changed from money to people.
My money is my followers!

The Thought Theory
Our mind keeps working every hour, every minute, every second. We are still not able to measure the speed of the thought. The world of thoughts is amazing. Once you get into your head, it is such a maze inside that you might never be able to find the escape route. You might have experience it for yourself how one moment you are thinking about a certain topic and in the very next moment you find yourself musing about something else. In a layman's language we call it "distraction" or "lack of focus". But these are terms which require an external help to happen. So how does this distraction happens while we are in our head and nothing from the outside world is distracting us?
The answer to same lies in simple observation. Close your eyes, relax your mind and start thinking about something. Taking my example here, I start with the picture of a light house in the middle of the sea, my wallpaper. Now as soon as I start thinking about this picture thousands of related pictures spur in my mind. Only few of these are present in our conscious mind, rest all are the part of our unconscious mind. Like this picture brought me the picture of my recent Diu trip, Scenes from Shutter Island the Movie, Names on the sand written by me, Parts of Lemony Snicket… movie and so on. The wonder is, all these images stays in our mind together. (We are still to contemplate what is the maximum capacity of these images which can stay in our mind and for how long). Now if I were to imagine a story weaving a plot around the picture on my wallpaper it might become a bit of a problem for me concentrate on the same because it is too easy to switch to any of the other appeared image in my mind, whose story I have to just remember out of my memory.
To put in simpler words. Our memory work in dots (Almost like a frames of a movie). At each dot several other related thoughts are brought upon the thought table. Now generally we pick one of these thought trail and keep joining just one set of thoughts. These set of chosen thoughts is again generally the ones with least effort i.e. beliefs, recently thought/listened/heard, memories/experiences etcetera. In this manner we kill the potential of other possible ideas which were surrounding the particular thought. This way we miss out on common sense and fail to think out of box. This could also speak for the reason why the out-of-the-box thinking is instinctual rather than process oriented.
So, for the process of idea generation an inverse policy could work. Where instead of working in frame by frame manner… we can try thinking in cluster manner. With every dot, write down the cluster around it and with the every dot of the cluster repeat the same process. It can surely give amazing results.
FLASH SOON!

Targeting rural markets!!
WARNING: I can't promise it not to be a boring post but i'll still try my best.
Dude, consider this, India is a country where the penetration of computers in rural areas is very less ( i am working on the "how much" part, will let you know soon). Now in such a scenario if we install a PC (cheapest at [new rupee symbol]14,000+ [a=]installation charges + cost of making that video/number of PC's you install) at the only ( it's normally only) kiryana shop in the village and teach the shopkeeper to start computer and play just one video, (guess what that will be... it's our brand).
Now the shopkeeper who obviously wanna showoff his new PC and his new PC operating skills (lets be modest, village people are curious about the PC, they are pestering the shop keeper to show it to them). Shopkeeper will show them how to use a PC (oh yea our company is doing CSR by teaching rural people how to use computers) and play our ads on it.
So what does that mean? Well it is a two way advantage where:-
1. The company is doing CSR
2. It's only our brand which is being marketed to the whole region of a population of around 10,000+* in just [new rupee symbol] 14,000 + a (see above).
Howzzat!!
You can come up with new ideas like, if you buy this much u get to use it for an hour blah... or can watch a movie blah etcetra-etcetra
You can always start at a smaller region then expand it from there.
ok, to talk about figures:-
I'll give you the figures soon, as soon as i can get them from pragati (my knowledge source form TAM lab)
Now why will that poor shopkeeper will work on that PC while pays for electricity charges for displaying YOUR ADS?
DUDE, he got a PC ok, may be the only one in the whole of village who got one, not even the surpanch got it. Even one will sit around his shop for hours. N obviously buying stuff from him. He is EARNING and he CAn see that (eh.. I hope)
Well in such a case keeping it in some food joint make more sense?
Umm... no.
1. Your product is not sold there.
2. even if it does, customers there are already busy in eating, in case you forgot working on a pc is a physical activity.duh!
3. our kiryana storekeeper is a marketeer, it's his job to advertise what he got!! help him out no!!
People will soon get bored of just one video and start exploring computer on their own and learn more, (i mean things other than just my brand, don't get me wrong, i am just a poor marketeer)?
Chill dude, it's good for you if they do that. It's almost like inception. You already know that internet is the cheapest medium for you to advertise, wouldn't it be wonderful if all your TG is at one place. Moreover consider this, the first ever site they ever joined is yours. So before facebook, they have community on your site.
But isn't that very long term?
Trust me dude, their going to exploring things on their own is again very long term. though it would be even cooler if your salesman on his every trip teaches the shopkeeper a new trick, obviously hinting towards your brand. And as they learned it all through your brand, they gonna stick through. Moreover, the buyers of the product here would be probably 26-45 year age ** so as per my observation (i will try to find out source of such study, if ever happened, from some authentic firm, the name you believe in, though i completely trust me instincts anyways) the guys aren't much keen on learning on their on. they don't trust gadgets to be their kind. But they like to play with never the less.
Like you love to press button on the remote but if you want to do some trick (as in fine tune or arrange the channel) you would rather trust your kid with that. [ though this a general trend in urban areas, i need citations for rural]
But none of them can even read English properly...
-> Yes your concern is fair enough. My suggestion though websites will be third or fourth step in the process but it would be better if you start working atleast on Hindi version of your website.
No you can't add the cost of Hindi translation to above project, dude you are selling your product in Indian markets. What are thinking of yet??
PS:-
* - As per wikipedia "According to the 2001 Indian census, 74% of Indians live in 638,365 different villages. The size of these villages varies considerably. 236,004 Indian villages have a population less than 500, while 3,976 villages have a population of 10,000+." and these 3976 is what i am talking about.
** Above is very dependent on your product type, though i am targeting majorly FMCG's here.
***Figures : coming soon; i know loads of editing is required here... m bit too sleepy right now, i promise i'll do it soon.

Slumdog Millionaire - Q & A !!!
What was "Slumdog Millionaire"?
-> Slumdog millionaire was a top-rated film with brillient direction, great story and outstanding music, which depicts the life of a slumdog of India who becomes a lucky millionaire because of the rugged experiences he had as a slumdog.
-> Slumdog millionaire was also a highly criticized movie because it focuses on the gloomy slum life people live in India.(Which is a true description by the way, but how dare the world pointed at our flaws... huh?)
well now over to
What is "Slumdog Millionaire"?
-> It is the India's answer to the world about what we have been doing for such a long period of time for which Indian cinematic history exists, and the world's cinema was ignoring our hard work and creativity.
-> It is a answer to all those who says that it depicts India as slumdog. With due respect sir, the irony is, this is the movie which made us RICHEST of all. It earned us 8 Oscars sir, a count greater than any other country/film is having right now.
Seems like when you were focusing on the "Slum dog" part... a "Millionaire" was being brought up somewhere else.
Jai Ho!!
A dedication to Sh. Dillip Kumar a.k.a Allah Rakha Rehman.

contd..
Now about people who do not.. err... it's actually a misconception that people in India do not vote! WHAT AM I SAYING??? well..it's THE TRUTH sir!! Everyone in India who got a voter id...votes! then it doesn't at all matters that you were busy watching repeat telecast of a daily soap on the election day... or were dead for that matter. a vote is casted on every voter id... n which party gets the vote, ah.. not that difficult to decipher.. it depends upon the party who bought the vote.n people says we are not smart businessmen like americans?? hello??
This is how reverently we follow our democracy... we are free right? We got the right to sell our vote and we do it!!
i wrote this lengthy and cumbersome description about DEMOCRACY not because i am pissed with it(i am pissed with it, yes but thats not the reason y i wrote about it) It's because i can see the dawn of change at the horizon now. People are getting aware about it. You actually read it till here even after reading the title properly! it means something. it means people want change and taking charge for it. Democracy is by the people as well... we are now ready to jibe with this clause of democracy as well!!
Now when even a Tea company can come forward to call for vote... it do mean something..!! This post is a dedication to Tata Tea Corp. for their JAAGO RE campaign. A huge applause for "http://jaagore.com/"

Being Democrat!
We(India) claim to be a democratic country since 1950. More than half a century we have lived with the rights of democracy being given to us. But are we a democratic country yet? i hear someone exclaiming "oh what an illogical question that is? we do vote don't we?" with all due respect to you sir my answer to you is "oh really?".
What is meant by democracy?
Even a third grader will start with the chant "Democracy is the government OF the PEOPLE, FOR the PEOPLE, BY the PEOPLE" and believe me he'll get a perfect grade for this one liner. We being the adults lets go a bit deeper in the meaning.
BY THE PEOPLE huh?
know what sir generally there are two kinds of voters:-
1. Who Vote.
2. Who do not vote.
but we are living is exotic India, nothing is that simple about it! We got these voters even sub-categorized.
1 a. Who actually vote.
These are the enlightened voters, like i am sure you are sir, who knows for which party and manifesto they are voting. They follow every detail reverently. Not that every aspect is clear to them but they still at least make an effort.
i may have many disagreements on my last statement as well. I agree that our elective system is completely transparent. But not much is in direct access to the public. this is the reason why there are so many provisions provided for us but we could never make use of it. We are just not aware. like how many of us knew that if u are an unemployed matriculate in the state of haryana then you are eligible of help of Rs.500 by the government of haryana. i know the amount is insignificant but sir it is not that insignificant if you are unemployed.
1 b. Who vote for fun.
i hope you haven't forgot other types of voters. Yes people do vote for fun. here we got a bunch of Gen Z, curious, gadget freak and hip people who vote in the same manner they give their semester exams.Their reasons to vote-->
-->they wanted to see how voting machine works!
-->To vote is cool!
-->My friend voted!
-->i got nothing to do!
-->One should try everything in life!
why did they voted to a particular party..
-eh.. how does that matter!!
Yeah.. these are actual COOL statements!
to be continue...
